Wireless Upgrade Work to Begin September 9

Friday, September 6, 2019

Enterprise Network & Communication Services (ENCS) is in the process of upgrading Wi-Fi at Penn State. As part of the project, wireless access points are being replaced and/or upgraded. Work in the residence halls at Penn State Behrend will be performed September 9 through September 16 and may impact residents and guests:

  • Work is scheduled to occur Monday, September 9 through Thursday, September 12 and then wrap up on Monday, September 16.
  • Technicians will require access to student rooms that house wireless access points; work in these rooms will occur between 10:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. and should take between 5-10 minutes per room. Students do not need to be present for work to occur.
  • As new and/or upgraded wireless access points are programmed and brought online, localized wireless outages may occur. Any such outages should be limited to one hour and one-two wings or floors at a time.
  • Wireless access in dining areas and other buildings on campus should not be impacted.

Visit wireless.psu.edu for information about Penn State's wireless networks and how to connect. Residents with questions about work being performed in their rooms can contact Housing and Food Services at 814-898-6161 or housingBD@psu.edu
